Questions about registering a domain with NameBest
Is WHOIS privacy really included?
Yes. Privacy is part of the yearly price of every domain whose registry allows it. A few country extensions, such as .us, do not permit privacy, and the search result tells you before you buy.
What does renewal cost?
The renewal price is shown next to the first year price on every search result, in the cart and on the pricing page. On some extensions, such as .xyz and .io, the renewal costs more than the first year. You see both prices before you pay.
Can I turn off auto renew?
Yes. Every domain has its own auto renew switch in the dashboard. Switch it off and the domain stays yours until the end of the paid year, then it expires unless you renew it by hand.
What happens if my domain expires?
The domain stops resolving, and you have a grace period to renew it at the normal price. After that comes a redemption period with a registry fee, and then the name is released. Our renewal policy gives the exact timeline and fees.
How do transfers work and how long do they take?
You unlock the domain at your current registrar, copy its EPP code and start the transfer here. Most transfers complete within 5 days and add a year to the registration. Read the domain transfer guide for each step.
Who owns the domain?
You do. You are the registrant in the WHOIS record, and you can unlock the domain and get the EPP code from your dashboard whenever you want to move it.
Do you give refunds?
A registered domain cannot be returned to the registry, so a completed registration is not refundable. If a registration fails, for example because the name was taken a moment before your order, you get a full refund for that domain.
Can I use my own nameservers?
Yes. Use our nameservers with the built in DNS editor, or set any custom nameservers in the dashboard. See custom nameservers for the details.
